It’s officially December which means that the countdown to Christmas has well and truly begun!

Rumour has it that the UK could experience some snow this Christmas; wouldn’t it be so magical to have a white Christmas? Luckily for us, snow or no snow, Newark town centre has been turned into a Winter Wonderland for Totally Locally Newark’s Christmas campaign #NewarkWonderland!

Our fabulous independent retailers have been busy elves putting together some truly beautiful Christmas themed shop windows in the hopes of dazzling shoppers, encouraging them to buy from independent shops and injecting some Christmas spirit into the hearts of shoppers. I don’t know about you but we’re not even one week into December and I am fed up of packed and cramped shopping centres and scrolling aimlessly online on my phone – I am ready for a truly magical shopping experience, are you?

Independent shops are the perfect place to get your beautiful Christmas presents, for something truly unique to give to your loved ones that they will truly treasure. They’re also pretty good for getting a little something for yourself – treat yourself!

Newark WonderlandThe brilliant thing about #NewarkWonderland is that you can get involved and win a little something for yourself. If you head over to the Totally Locally Newark Facebook Page you will be able to vote for your favourite festive window – one lucky retailer with the most votes will lift the Newark Wonderland trophy! Additionally all voters will be entered into a prize draw where one lucky voter (perhaps it might be you) will win themselves £200 worth of vouchers to use in Totally Locally Newark independent shops. You can vote by simply ‘liking’ your favourite window display’s picture.

Voting for the best window is currently open and will remain open until 2pm on the 20th December – we wish you the best of luck!

You can also get involved by using the hashtag #NewarkWonderland – we want to see your own pictures of Newark all lit up and decorated for Christmas.

Furthermore if you want to get creative this festive season then Totally Locally Newark have created a short ‘how to’ tutorial for a simple decoration which is over on their Facebook page.

Stay up to date on all things #NewarkWonderland by following the hashtag, liking Totally Locally Newark’s Facebook page and following their Instagram page. Use the hashtag to join the conversation.

Also a quick reminder to say that there will be FREE parking in all Newark and Sherwood District Council car parks every Sunday in December.

We leave you with some of our favourite festive windows, which ones are your favourite?
