The Weekend starts early in Southwell with the brilliant Gate to Southwell festival. It’s a fantastic international roots and acoustic music festival on the edge of the historic and beautiful Minster town of Southwell. There will be over 50 artists performing over 4 days on 4 main stages as well as on-site camping, kids activities, street theatre, comedy, spoken word and lots more! You can never be bored at this delight of a festival.
There will be a fantastic array of traders, superb artisan food, celidhs, folk dance, a children’s festival as well as an impressive range of beers and ciders. The festivals also have specialised themed events including ‘Thursday Americana’ taking place on, you guessed it, Thursday evening on the Main Stage, ‘European Culture 2019’ throughout the festival which celebrates the best of European music, ‘Spoken Word’ which will feature special events on both the Saturday and Sunday as well as a ‘Chill Out Zone’ where you can take a moment to relax and have a reflexology treatment or clothed massage if you so wish! There will also be workshops throughout the weekend for those who want to get involved and learn a bit more about a genre of music.
The Gate to Southwell Festival promises to be a brilliant weekend filled with fantastic music and family fun! We’re counting down the days till we can celebrate in Southwell and if this sounds like your sort of fun, then grab some tickets on their website.
We hope to see you in Southwell soon!
