Major Oak Woodland FestivalsMajor Oak Woodland Festival

8th – 9th June

Celebrate all things Sherwood Forest this June with the Major Oak Woodland festival. Stroll the leafy paths of Sherwood Forest and find out about traditional woodland crafts whilst discovering how this former Royal hunting forest is looked after today!

See craftspeople including toy makers to willow weavers and watch demonstrations on how these crafts are created whilst trying your own hand at some age-old forest skills. Meet bodgers, Windsor chair makers, charcoal producers, wood turners, knife smiths, furniture makers, archaeologists, conservation organisations and nature charities.

A particular treat will be a visit to the Major Oak where you can hear from park rangers how they look after the UK’s most beloved tree and protect Sherwood Forest in the 21st century in order to keep the legend of Robin Hood alive!

Whether you’re a woodworking enthusiast, love local crafts or just want a fun family outing, join the Sherwood Forest Trust under the ancient oaks for a great weekend!

This festival is free to attend, all you need to do is turn up to Sherwood Forest between 11am and 4pm and experience Sherwood Forest like never before.
