1940s Weekend

Rufford Country Park

Rufford Country Park’s ‘On The Home Front’ event is back by popular demand! Experience the sights and sounds of wartime Britain with a fantastic weekend of living history – set in and around the picturesque remains of Rufford Abbey. Take a walk down Memory Lane, dress up in your vintage finery, chat to knowledgeable re-enactors or just take a stroll round and enjoy that Dad’s Army vibe!

The Bramley Festival 2017

Southwell

Every October, Southwell holds this event to celebrate the origins of the Bramley Apple in Southwell. Attracting hundreds of local, national and international visitors, the festival takes place throughout the town with a fantastic food and drink fair at Southwell Minster and local shops, the library, cafes and pubs getting involved. There are also poetry, baking and craft competitions.

National Civil War Centre

Enjoy frightfully fun activities for all the family at the National Civil War Centre this October half term. Join eminent monsterologist Dr Edvard Von Goosechaser for a thrilling investigation into claims that Prince Rupert’s favourite pet Boye was actually a devil dog! And take part in our monstrously marvellous crafts making a book of beasts, a monster in a jar and shadow puppets to scare your family!
